About

About
It is a temple located on Gayasan Mountain in Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do. It is considered one of the three treasures of Korea along with Songgwangsa Temple in Suncheon-si and Tongdosa Temple in Yangsan-si. The three treasures refer to Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha in Buddhism, and Haeinsa Temple is the temple of the Buddhist treasure (the Tripitaka Koreana), Tongdosa Temple is the temple of the Buddhist treasure (the true sarira), and Songgwangsa Temple is the temple of the Sangha (the temple of precepts). In addition, it is considered one of the five major temples along with Beomeosa Temple in Busan and Hwaeomsa Temple in Gurye-gun. It has two UNESCO World Heritage sites. The World Documentary Heritage is the Tripitaka Koreana, and the World Cultural Heritage is the Janggyeong Panjeon. Therefore, photography is prohibited in the area where the Tripitaka Koreana is stored. UNESCO managers strictly prohibit it, so you can only view it with your naked eyes. It would be a good trip to visit the Hapcheon Film Theme Park, Hwangmaesan Mountain, Hapcheon Dam, and Hapcheon Lake Trail in the surrounding area. Haeinsa Temple is a temple that goes well with the surrounding scenery that changes with the seasons. It presents a different and mysterious landscape each season.
