Namsan Seoul Tower (N Seoul Tower) is a radio transmission and tourism tower located near the top of Namsan in Yongsan-dong 2-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Construction began in 1969 and was completed on July 30, 1975. It is 236.7 m high and 479.7 m above sea level. Terrestrial broadcasters in the metropolitan area use this tower to transmit radio waves. You can look down on the entire city of Seoul from the observation deck, and it is well known as a tourist destination on clear days. It is commonly called Namsan Tower because it is located in Namsan, and Seoul Tower because it is located in Seoul, but its official name registered with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety is YTN Seoul Tower. It is a landmark tower representing the Republic of Korea or Seoul, and is said to be a broadcasting transmission tower and observation tower. Seoul Tower, which stands tall on the wide and pleasant Namsan Mountain of 900,000 pyeong, which has a unique natural beauty and looks and feels different depending on the season, is 480 meters above sea level, allowing you to see the whole of Seoul at a glance. You can go up to the tower observatory from the shopping mall. At night, various colored lights come on depending on the air quality. When a yellow dust advisory or ultrafine dust advisory is issued, it is red, and when the air quality is good with ultrafine dust concentration below 20㎍/㎥, it is blue, and on other days, the lights change from moment to moment. In addition, the lights change color on certain commemorative days, such as when red lights are used on 'World Blood Donor Day'. Many tourists take the Namsan Cable Car up the mountain. They walk to Namsan Tower, which is a national symbol and famous for its cityscape. There is a 236.7m (777ft) tower on Namsan (243m or 797ft). It attracts thousands of tourists and locals every year. This is especially true at night when the tower is lit up. Photographers enjoy the panoramic view the tower offers. About 8.4 million people visit N Seoul Tower every year. N Seoul Tower is surrounded by many of Korea’s attractions, including Namsan Park and Namsangol Hanok Village.
