About
About
It is a super high-rise building located in Songpa-gu, Seoul. With 123 floors above ground and a height of 555m, it holds the records of the tallest building in Korea, the 6th tallest building in the world, and the tallest building in OECD as of April 2024. Since its completion in 2016, the building has been used as the Korean headquarters of Lotte Group. The total area is 420,309.54㎡ (127,143 pyeong). The total floor area of Lotte World Tower is 328,350㎡, making it the largest building in Korea. The building that comes in second place is the Misa Riverside Skypolis Knowledge Industry Center (315,935.05㎡) in Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do. Before the construction of Lotte World Tower, the largest building in Korea was Gangnam Finance Center (212,612.30㎡). Signiel Seoul Hotel is also famous for Signiel Residence, and there is a large shopping mall called Lotte World Mall in the tower annex. Since there is an observatory that anyone can enter for free if they pay, it has inherited the reputation of 63 Building in Yeouido and Namsan Seoul Tower, and has established itself as a new landmark representing not only Seoul but also South Korea. The Songpa-gu area is full of high-rise apartments and other skyscrapers, making Lotte World Tower stand out even more. It has the largest acrylic observation tank in Korea, housing 55,000 fish of 650 species, and the longest underwater tunnel in Korea, the Lotte World Aquarium, which is like a sea in the city center.
