About
About
Jeju's beaches are beautiful both day and night. Among them, there is a beach that is loved by many tourists. Iho Tewoo Beach is well known as a good place to take pictures of Jeju Island due to its pony lighthouse. The red and white ponies have a striking contrast in color, giving us an exotic landscape. Also, there is a thick acacia forest along the path to Iho Tewoo Beach, and a pine forest has formed behind the sandy beach. There is a camping site between the pine forests, so many people come to enjoy camping with tents in the summer. Iho Tewoo has convenient facilities such as an observation rest area, parking lot, and changing rooms for enjoying various activities.
At low tide, when the sea level is the lowest, you can see the endless white sand beach and the shape of a wondam. A wondam is one of Jeju's traditional fishing methods that catches fish by taking advantage of the difference between high and low tides, and Iho Tewoo Beach has the Iho Mosalwon, which has restored the space. As it is the closest beach to Jeju City, many people visit it, but not many people know about the mysterious Wondam that appears only during low tide. Another way to experience Jeju's tradition is to time it accordingly.
