Gongju-si

There is a legend about Gongju City related to Gomnaru (Goma Naru). In the past, during the Baekje period, there is a legend about a female bear in Yeonmi Mountain who spoke human language. It is a city of chestnuts and a city where Baekje history lives and breathes. There is also the Seokjang-ri Historic Site, where the Paleolithic Age relics were first excavated, and the Gongsanseong Fortress that protected Baekje still remains. The Geumgang River flows through the middle of the city, boasting beautiful scenery. There is also a variety of food, and Yuguri is one of the three major Viscose Rayon production areas in Korea.
