The area of Hoehyeon-dong and Bonghwang-dong in Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam, is nicknamed ‘Bongridan-gil’. As unique shops opened in the old alleys and people began to visit more frequently, Bonghwang-gil began to develop into a tourist attraction representing Gimhae. Since the area around Bonghwang-gil was originally the center of Gaya, Bonghwang-dong remains remain on one side of Bonghwang-gil.
