On July 12, 2025, the ‘Petroglyphs of Bangucheon’ were registered as Korea’s 17th World Heritage Site.
The Bangucheon Petroglyphs are a collective name for National Treasure No. 147, Cheonjeon-ri Rock Carvings, and National Treasure No. 285, Bangudae Petroglyphs. The registration was decided at the 47th World Heritage Committee held in Paris, France on the 12th. Ulsan City plans to use this opportunity to develop the Bangucheon area and other areas into world-class cultural tourism attractions.
