Overview

Majang Lake Suspension Bridge is one of the longest suspension bridges in Korea, stretching 220 meters across the calm and picturesque Majang Reservoir. Formally opened as part of a massive eco-tourism park project, it seamlessly blends thrill with natural beauty. Designed to withstand strong earthquakes and gusting winds, the bridge features a transparent glass floor section at its center, allowing visitors to look directly down at the emerald water beneath their feet while surrounded by dense mountain forests.

History

Originally built in 1993 as an agricultural reservoir to supply water to nearby farming areas, Majang Lake was completely transformed into an eco-friendly theme park in March 2018. The highlight of this revitalization was the construction of the suspension bridge, which instantly turned the quiet reservoir into a premier tourist destination in Gyeonggi Province. Over the years, the city of Paju has continuously expanded the surrounding infrastructure, adding extensive wooden boardwalks, modern observation decks, and water leisure facilities.

• The 220-Meter Bridge: A magnificent engineering feat that spans the lake, providing panoramic 360-degree views of the changing seasonal foliage of Mount Goryeong.

• Glass-Bottom Section: A exhilarating 18-meter stretch in the middle of the bridge made of bulletproof glass, offering a clear view of the deep lake directly below.

• Lake Observation Deck: A 15-meter tall observatory tower near the entrance featuring a panoramic cafe where visitors can enjoy coffee with a sweeping view of the entire park.
