Overview

N Seoul Tower, officially known as the YTN Seoul Tower and commonly referred to as Namsan Tower, sits atop Namsan Mountain (262m). Reaching a total height of 479.7 meters above sea level, it offers a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the entire city. It is a multipurpose cultural space where nature, state-of-the-art technology, and tourism facilities coexist beautifully.

History

Construction of the tower began in 1969 as South Korea's first general radio wave tower to broadcast TV and radio signals. Completed in 1971, the observatory was initially kept closed for national security reasons but was finally opened to the public in October 1980. In 2005, it underwent a major renovation and was renamed 'N Seoul Tower,' where the 'N' stands for 'New,' 'Namsan,' and 'Nature.'
